I've started this blog today and I wanna begin it by saying a few words.
Sims 4 is almost upon us and with that, a whole lot of chaos has ensued in the simming community.
Some people are thrilled with the new looks, the new mechanics, the new "emotions", everything.
Others are not so much, quite the opposite.
Personally, I've been a part of the fantastic Sims 3 community for years now and to me, most of my friends there are like an extended family that I have never met. With some, I've shared good and bad times, with others, I've shared ideas and creations, but with almost all of my simming friends I have shared the love of a game. A game, that despite buggyness, flaws and hair-pullingly frustrating moments have given us all lots of joy and laughs over the years.
My favorite iteration has been Sims 3, because of the fantastic (albeit somewhat broken) tools that it gave us to play with. Once I really got into building, it was a sealed deal, Sims 3 is always gonna be my favorite waste of time. As far as moving into Sims 4, I doubt very much that I will. There's still too many things I need to try, need to do and need to see in Sims 3.
A big question for me right now is; will we get to keep the forums or are they going to be put down after a while? I have no idea, but I am pretty sure that at some point, EA are gonna close the Sims 3 forums down. So to keep up with all the friends I have made, the fantastic creators and their creations, I have joined a few groups on Facebook.
The groups I have joined are these (so far):
https://www.facebook.com/groups/lifesimideas/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/320785188086835/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sims3Group/
https://www.facebook.com/groups/174247142770921/
I hope to see as many of you there are possible. Or around on other Sims related blogs, where I will follow (if there's a follow button!).
I know that for many this feels like The End. But it's not. We don't HAVE to lose touch, we don't HAVE to stop playing Sims, Sims 2 or Sims 3, we don't HAVE to jump on the Sims 4 bandwagon and abandon the love we have for the Sims iterations that are already out there.
The choice is ours, it's yours and mine. I chose to stay with my Sims 3, with my friends from there.
This blog will be where I will continue to share, laugh, be amazed and vent - all about The Sims!

I feel like this post needs a "BRAVO!"
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly how I feel, even though I haven't really been much more than a lurker with the Sims 3 Community, I do enjoy reading the posts. (And without the DD Stalkers I wouldn't own half the Store Content I do!)
Thank you! :)
DeleteThe DD stalkers have really done us all a huge favor, I admire their patience and determination. And I hope that they've joined the groups too! :)
Hi darlin! I feel exactly the same! I feel very anxious about the site changes! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHeeey sweetie! <3
